Letter from the EditorJune 7, 2007

It is an honor and a pleasure for me to take on the role of President of the New York City Classical Guitar Society. The Board and the previous leaders have built a strong and vibrant Society over these past few years, and I am excited about continuing that work and furthering the growth of the Society. I'd especially like to thank our immediate past President, Michael Barry, under whose direction we've had a remarkable concert series this spring, featuring performances by three top international artists.

There is one more concert in that series, our annual Conservatory Concert on June 15, which will feature four rising stars from music schools in New York City. I hope to see many of you there to support the Society and these fine young perfomers, and to hear some great guitar music. And I look forward to the coming year, working with the Board and the membership of the NYCCGS, as we seek to continue to contribute to the vitality of the classical guitar in New York City.
