Greetings:

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I assume the position of Director and President of the New York City Classical Guitar Society. I believe there is great potential in the mission of our society, and I am pleased to work with so many dedicated members, as well as a very capable board of directors. Congratulations to Andrew for taking the society as far as he did. While his are some big shoes to fill, he did leave behind a well organized society, and because of his efforts, we have much to offer the classical guitar world in the coming years.

It is my intention to continue serving the classical guitar community through the fulfillment of our mission, and in so doing, expand our membership and influence in the community. We have an exciting concert series coming up this spring, including Ana Vidovic, David Pavlotis,
Raphaella Smits and a Flamenco Festival. I look forward to our monthly meetings, and I hope to work with larger organizations to create NYCCGS sponsored outreach and educational programs for NYC schools.

With the help of the members and the board, I am sure we can do our part to further unify New York's classical guitar community, and increase the understanding and appreciation of our favorite instrument.

Michael Barry
