I feel that during the time I have spent as President, the Society has seen growth at its meetings, the lectures, and the concert series. It has been rewarding to watch the contribution that NYCCGS has made to the guitar community in New York and beyond. At this time, we have a viable organization that has drawn interest from all over the world, and I see a bright future ahead. None of this would have been possible, however, without the assistance of the Board of Directors, the Members of the Society, the Advisory Board, the financial supporters, and the cooperation of the artists and their management that I’ve come in contact with over the years. Thank you for your support of classical guitar, the New York guitar community, our organization, and me. It is with a head full of fond memories, then, that I offered my resignation to the Board of Directors on June 8, 2006. It has been a hard decision to make, however, I feel it is the right one for me as well as the future of the Society. My recommendation and nomination for President will be Michael Barry, currently the Vice President of NYCCGS. As I have come to know him through the work we have done together, I feel that he is the right person to take the Society to the next level and continue its upward growth. I will leave here knowing the Society is in good hands and continuing to thrive. Thank you again for a wonderful experience at NYCCGS. I look forward to watching its future growth and presence in New York City. Respectfully, | ||||||||||||
