NYlon Asks the ProsWhat was the last piece of music you learned?

As a soloist, I just learned and performed Giuliani's Gran Quintetto for guitar and string quartet, which I played at a Giuliani Festival in Pasadena last month. With the quartet, we're learning a bunch of new material for a Brazilian-themed project we're doing later this year, including new pieces by Clarice Assad (Sergio's daughter) and Roland Dyens.
~William Kanengiser

I am just learning a piece by cuban composer Ileana Perez that will be
performed on March 16th at the Music From Almost Yesterday Concert Series, Titled Entre la Ternura y el Intenso Azul. A very challenging piece of music with a lot of polyrhythm.
~Rene Izquierdo

I have learned a few new Piazzolla pieces for the show out of passion for his music.
