Guitar Plus is in its second season of chamber music concerts with the guitar. This year it is presented by Symphony Space at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater. Both programs in the series are devoted to contemporary music, and each program will feature a premiere of a significant work by a major American composer - George Crumb on April 23 and David Del Tredici on April 29.

The April 29 concert features harpist Yolanda Kondonassis and guitarist and series Artistic Director David Leisner. The program includes the Sonata: Spirit of Trees by Alan Hovhaness and Fantasia by Xavier Montsalvatge. The second half will consist entirely of the world premiere of the 30-minute solo guitar piece in four movements, Facts of Life by David Del Tredici.

Preceding each concert will be a discussion with the composers and Symphony Space Associate Artistic Director Laura Kaminsky on the Underscore series at 6:30 pm.
